All About Me

Who am I? My name is Alyssa Anastasiades, I am an 18-year-old female with high standards and social issues. I’m sure that’s not the kind of answer that was intended for that question, so let me answer it as expected. Who am I? I’m a small-town girl that likes to go out and have fun but at the same time sit at home, watch movies and be lazy. Being from a small town and not having much experience with things that aren’t school, food places football games, band, cheering and social media sites, kind of puts a damper on things. That’s literally all I did in high school, I was lame. I was never the party type, at least not the kind of party girl most of my classmates were. I’m not saying I was the kid to come straight home and start on my homework, no, actually quite the opposite. I had a very bad habit of procrastination, I would wait until Sunday night to do all of my homework. Finally, after four years I have broken myself from that. College makes it easier because we have more leisure time.

I’m getting off topic so next question, where am I from? I’m from a small town south of Waco called Marlin. A lot of people hear “Marlin “and think “eh”, but I like my little town, the people, the history but NOT the roads.  I suggest if you’re coming into Marlin from Bryan, stay on highway 6! Steer clear of that exit, keep going, your tires and shocks will thank you later. What I’m into leads into where I want to go in life and what I will do to get there. So, lets knock out two questions in one answer. I’ve really been off my A- game since I’ve moved to Bryan and starting school in a different environment, I have been sick since school started so that’s  affected me and my abilities to workout. I’m into physical fitness, I want to become either a physical therapist, sports trainer or personal trainer. Not exactly sure which one yet but I have faith that life will lead me in the direction of the best fit for me. I have a passion for working out and being healthy. I want to learn more about the body and what’s best for it to reach my set goals and eventually be able to help others reach their goals and feel good about themselves as I want to.

How will I obtain this lifelong goal? I WILL get my baccalaureate degree, 3-4 year of required courses which will lead me to completing a professional doctoral program and becoming a doctorate of physical therapy (DPT). Last question, what do I hope will be there? I hope, that there will be success and high demand for a physical trainers or therapist in the future. I’m sure there will be because people are always getting hurt or want their body to look a certain way.  It would suck to go through all of this school and not have anything to do or jobs open for what I would be certified for! Well I enjoyed talking about myself, I hope you enjoy learning about me and my boring life. Looking forward to learning more about my peers.

  2. Alyssa, I loved your article the first time around when I peer edited it and now that you took a few of my suggestions I love it even more! I admire how determined you are to reach your goal! You seem to have a great plan for yourself, I can tell by how you expressed that with great detail! Really good job!

  3. Suggestion: consider becoming a Yoga instructor. Yoga is SUPER popular right now, and it's a great way to make money while learning about the body, fitness, diet, and how to work with people. Bryan-College Station has opened two yoga studios in the past few years, and loads of places - including churches and bars - are starting to host yoga lessons, so there's a big demand for good instructors. Not to mention, it could look good on your resume one day.
